Nicholas J. Evanovich III
“I’m not afraid of tackling challenges and I’ve been able to do so as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. I work hard to ensure my clients have the best representation on their side.”

Partner | Personal Injury and Criminal Defense Attorney
Nicholas J. Evanovich III is an accomplished attorney and partner at LaMarche Safranko Law PLLC, where he focuses on personal injury litigation and criminal defense throughout Albany, the Capital Region, and Upstate New York. Known for his strong courtroom presence and strategic approach to complex matters, Nick is dedicated to protecting the rights of injured clients and individuals facing criminal charges.
Before joining LaMarche Safranko Law, Nicholas developed significant trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Clinton County (Plattsburgh, NY). His background as a prosecutor provides invaluable insight into how cases are built and litigated, knowledge he now uses to effectively defend clients. He also served as an adjunct lecturer at SUNY Plattsburgh, sharing his experience with students preparing for careers in law and justice.
With nearly a decade of experience on both sides of the courtroom, Nick previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. Doerr in Butler County, Pennsylvania. He has tried numerous cases involving serious criminal charges and complex personal injury matters and has successfully argued before both the New York State Appellate Division and the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court. His appellate background strengthens his ability to handle high-stakes litigation at every stage.
As part of his criminal defense practice, Nick and the team at LaMarche Safranko Law recently achieved a notable victory in a federal criminal matter. Through the Northern District of New York’s PATH Program, the firm secured an extraordinary outcome: their client avoided a criminal record and incarceration entirely. This specialized diversion program is offered only to select defendants and provides an alternative to traditional prosecution, allowing participants the chance to rehabilitate and move forward without jail time—and in rare cases, without the lifelong consequences of a federal conviction. Nick’s advocacy played a key role in obtaining this life-changing result.
Recognized for his dedication, skill, and client-centered approach, Nick became a partner at LaMarche Safranko Law PLLC in 2024. Today, he continues to serve as a trusted advocate for clients navigating personal injury claims, serious criminal allegations, federal investigations, and complex legal challenges.
